How far I go
There are three answers, and it's fairer to say which is which than to claim the whole county and sort it out on the phone.
Every day — the Isle of Purbeck
Wareham, Swanage, Corfe Castle, Wool and Bere Regis and the villages around them. This is my home patch: it's where the van already is, so there's nothing to arrange. Most days I'm within a few miles of all of it.
Regularly — towards Poole
Upton & Lytchett Minster and Poole. Off the Purbeck side of the causeway but close enough that I'm over there often. Worth a call to check the day rather than assuming either way.
By arrangement — further afield
I travel further afield by arrangement, including Dorchester and Weymouth — just ask.
The villages between
Studland, Kimmeridge, Creech, Ridge, East Stoke and the rest. If it's in Purbeck, it's covered — no village is too small or too far down a lane.
Being down a lane is usually the reason people call. A car that won't start at the end of a farm track is an expensive recovery job and a cheap house call, and the van gets down lanes a low-loader can't.
Questions about where I work
- Do you come to my home or my workplace?
- Yes — both. I'm a mobile mechanic, so the workshop comes to the car rather than the other way round. I work on driveways, on the street outside your house, and in work car parks. Plenty of the houses round here have no driveway at all, and that has never been a problem.

- I'm based in Wareham and cover the whole Isle of Purbeck every day: Wareham, Swanage, Corfe Castle, Wool, Bere Regis, Upton & Lytchett Minster and Poole, plus the villages between them — Stoborough, Sandford, Studland, Langton Matravers, Church Knowle, Bovington, Lulworth and the rest. I also travel further afield by arrangement, including Dorchester and Weymouth — just ask.
