Corfe Castle
Mobile mechanic in Corfe Castle
Ten minutes from my base in Wareham, and one of my favourite corners of Purbeck to work in.

Corfe hasn't got a garage, and it shows in the calls I get. The village itself is squeezed tight under the castle — stone cottages, no forecourts, cars parked wherever the street allows. Getting a dead car recovered out of Corfe to a workshop in Poole is an expensive morning. Having the workshop drive to the car instead is exactly what a mobile mechanic is for, and I'm passing through most weeks anyway.
The same goes double for the villages behind the ridge: Church Knowle, Steeple, Kingston up on the hill, and out towards Kimmeridge. Proper Purbeck lanes — narrow, high-hedged, awkward for a recovery truck and no trouble at all for a van. If the car's died outside a cottage at the end of a track, that's not a complication for me; that's a normal Tuesday.
Out here I see a bit of everything: everyday runabouts, farm 4x4s, and the older and classic cars this end of Purbeck seems to keep tucked away in barns and outbuildings. All welcome — classics are a regular part of my week.
