Classic and specialist vehicles

Most of my week is ordinary cars and vans. This page is about the rest of it.

Around Purbeck there are garages full of vehicles the average workshop doesn't want: classics that predate diagnostic ports, motorhomes that don't fit on a ramp, imports the parts catalogues don't recognise. I've been working on them for over 40 years, and they're some of my favourite jobs.

Classic and older cars

Points, carburettors, dynamos, wiring looms with forty years of bodges in them — older cars need someone who learned on them, not someone googling the wiring diagram. I service and repair classics at your home, and I treat them like they're mine.

Motorhomes and campervans

Too tall for the ramp, too long for the yard — motorhomes are exactly the vehicles a mobile mechanic makes sense for. Servicing, repairs and pre-trip checks on your drive, where it's parked anyway.

4x4s and Japanese imports

Land Rovers, Jeeps and the grey-import Toyotas and Nissans that most garages hesitate over. Imports especially — the parts and quirks are different, and knowing them saves you money.

Quick and efficient service. I had a door issue with my Toyota Alphard, a Japanese import, so not many mechanics know about these vehicles. Darren responded to plea of help immediately and called in to have a look. He gave me some options to resolve the issue. Darren experience and ability was key to knowing how to resolve the problem. I will definitely be using Darren’s services again, highly recommended. And excellent value for money.
